I continue to be on the hunt for one of the larger top times, having passed on the 815 I asked about a bit back. Looking at this one and am curious. It looks to be a Mark I case with a red-handed panda that seems to be Mark II (That sentence sounded much more confidant than it should given my level of ignorance. )

What do y'all think?

confident with good reason.
a very late Mk2 hands configuration on a panda should have a Mk2 case - actually any panda and any "wide lume baton" hands only came in Mk2 cases, as far as we know.

lovely piece, but an incorrect "transition"

Thanks for the response, though I admit I was hoping to hear that this was a known, if uncommon, variation, because it does look lovely.

The mix of aesthetics and correctness you have to deal with in the vintage domain is interesting. Let's face it, this is a beautiful watch, but not being correct (my assumption is that it was put together, perhaps some time ago, from leftover stock) take a lovely watch and makes it so much less desirable.

My search continues!
