I found this watch for sale and I like the look of it. It is supposed to be manufactured in the 40's. How can I tell if it is genuine? Any help appreciated. What is a reasonable price? Thanx in advance!

Thanks for a quick reply. Could you or someone else knowledgeable, just explain how you can tell? I am trying to learn and the seller is absolutely convinced this watch is legitimate.

The back is the wrong design and has no reference number. The Breitling logo has been added to the watches movement rotor and jewel count is wrong. The dial appears to have been redone. Ask the seller if there's a six digit serial number inside the back cover. All Breitling's from this era will have one. Ask for a pic too since fakers are getting wise to a lack of serial number.
