late 3-hands are totally undocumented - most probably correct, my gut feeling says.

Pretty crude fake. Transocean movements have machined finishes, rotor engraving wrong, dial wrong, inside caseback is dated like an Enicar for example, and what's with the SUSPENSE on the back?

there was a 1970s "TransOcean Suspense", Paul, we had one here some years ago, let me see if I can find it.

edit: one sold through Watches of Kinghtsbridge a year ago, another active in Germany.

I suppose these could have come out mid seventies but very strange that they're completely un-Breitling like and undocumented. I'm always open to this era as having some strange pieces but almost all of them are documented to some extent. Googling around a bit last night the only references I could find to the 'Suspense' were in regard to Titoni watches and a modification to the balance shock absorber. Strange stuff appeared around the time Breitling was about to be sold but these are really too strange for me and probably explains the crudeness of execution. Some pieces, like the late sixties dive watches, didn't conform to the reference number and serial number standard but were well documented. Same for the 9657, and other mid seventies, watches for example. Unfortunately if this is genuine it will be a poor investment as there are way too many questions that will be forthcoming as to it's originality and, without documentation of some sort (and I don't count auction houses), a little too risky for most.

Nice to know for sure. Still pretty unusual that in the liveautioneers link above it's listed as a ref 1108 but is marked Transocean on the dial, not Suspense. Not the usual Transocean case or hands either. Makes one wonder why it's a Transocean listing. Thanks for posting the catalog pic.
