tartarine, could you enlighten us in which country you live or where that watch was bought ?

Bill, the Uhren Trautmann catalog most probably is from 1964, as it shows the 810s, that, afaik, were only launched
in 64.

Here are the relevant pages from this catalog, interesting to see there is a ref. 1782 on page 7 - have never seen this in the metal,
these were produced in stainless, not gold, but this looks like an applied "B" ?

as discussed, I have seen quite a lot of "applied B" pieces from Italy, mainly 11xx Cadettes, but also some strange ones with "Premier" markings
at 6, what do you think about this one from Spain ?

Wow, look how the 'Top Time' is spelled out on the dials of those two examples on the left. Never seen that configuration before. Wonder if that was a preproduction example just to get the catalogs off the press.

I tend to disagree with Roff a bit on how much is mystery. Even though we have little documentation and lack a company with records to authenticate vintage pieces, genuine Breitlings have common characteristics and that is increasingly true over time. By the 1960s, it isn't difficult to match each chronograph with a catalog or ad.

The pictures have a lot of glare on them and we don't get to see inside, but the "Premier" in Spain looks to be a genuine 760 and probably from around the 1958 from the inscription and consistent with Richter page 119.

That 1782 in the Trautman catalog is an odd duck and I don't think one has ever beet spotted in the wild. It looks to be a fancy case, and the main purpose of that page is to describe the uses of chronographs.

I have this other thought on tartarine's watch. If something happened to the original case, through wear or accident, a watchmaker's solution might be to move it into another case and the markers onto another dial that fits. Would an owner otherwise move to a solid gold case if the opportunity came around? Thinking of Paul's plated 2006, it might look a lot better than a brassed, plated case.

Good spotting! And only this January. Very fancy case for all stainless.
