can you tell me if this is real or fake bought it off a car boot for a couple of pounds it looks like its had a hard life. it runs for a couple of minutes then stops . if its real would it be worth spending on it to bring it back to its original condition many thanks . Image

real 1966 TopTime in Tonneau case, has had quite a hard life. I would definitely try to have it restored, like those. Have a look at the following post, no. 52 shows how it would/could look:

most of us here trust member chronodeco with such tasks, though he is in the US we find it well worth the minimal hassle of international shipping to have such a competent watchmaker work on our watches, maybe somebody from the UK will chime in with a local suggestion ?

What a deal for a couple of pounds. I agree with Fred Chronodeco does an absolutely beautiful job in restoration of vintage watches.
