The case diameter is only 34 mm (normally 35 mm) and the stamped numbers on the case are very fat but correspond to existing reference and 1959 I think.

Case must have been chromed on former gold plating.

Is it authentic ?

thanks

Franken at best.

The Breitling on the caseback is an amateur attempt but script Breitling dial with block Breitling bridge is a no-no.

Thanks but what about the case number and reference ? they look very professional. Have they been later stamped and if so why isn't there the original numbers somewhere on the case ?

Hence why I said Franken and not fake. There were 1189s with 30 minute subs, but I've not seen any with stamped block letter bridges.

Do you know if 34 mm case diameter were made in 1950 as the case number indicates it's from 1950 (Richter book I just bought) ?

What about the ref and case number on the back case: they are very "fat" and don't look others I have seen ? Are they original or stamped later to make believe it's a Breitling ?

Case has been chromed on former gold plating.

Thanks for your help

I don't have a problem with the case or the stamping.

As in Frankenstein's monster - made up of parts of other watches.

So do you consider that 34 mm case (instead of 35 mm like all others in my colection or that I saw) is normal ?

Why would have Breitling decided to reduce the size of the case diameters of 1 mm ?

Look at how the "G" of Breitling is stamped on the movement bridge (not same size as other letters) : it clearly shows that this has been amateurly stamped on the bridge, but does this prove that it's a fake ? (it seems that there are many genuine examples with "Breitling" later added on the bridge.

Thanks

I'm really not sure why you keep asking the same question. From your eBay history you are clearly not new to vintage watches, and if you have a different opinion to me then that's fine, but I'm not going to give a different answer if you keep asking the same question over and over :!:
