Hi! The seller tells me this chronographe is 100% original. Manufactured near the year 1950.
Real or fake? Thanks.

Well if it's real then it's nearer 1943 than 1950 but I am very suspicious of the movement. The out of focus shot doesn't help, but the Breitling engraving looks very dodgy. It's possible that the engraving was added to the original movement - a blank bridge would have been perfectly correct, and it is roughly correct for a 789, but wouldn't buy without a better photo. Would also like to see the inside of the caseback.

Thanks for comprehensive answer. Can you help me specify the model of this chronographe? I can show better quality photos later (including the inside of the caseback).

the name is on the watch, ref. no. 789, that's it. defintely pre1944, agree with Roff that the bridge looks tampered with, case seems absolutely ok.

I just can't find in the internet this model of watch with exactly the same dial, like on my photo

Sorry, I dont understand what do you mean. May be I say something wrong? (my english is not so good as i wish)

I wanna buy vintage breitling chronograph, and this photo (in the start of topic) I receive from seller. I know there is many fakes of this type of watch. And it seems strange to me, that I can't find exactly the same looking dial.

Best regards, Alex

I simply meant that because you couldn't find similar ones yourself then you came here to ask if it was real, that's all.

There were some minor variations in dials in watches produced in this era, and I am satisfied that the dial is correct for a 789. As I said, my only suspicion is the movement, and it's entirely possible that it's the original movement but someone engraved Breitling into the bridge in the mistaken belief that it should have been there in the first place.

getting worse.
dial refinished, logo wrong, no model. no. on caseback, movements of this period should definitely have no logo on bridge.

:yeahthat

No way in the world that you would ever see that single B logo on the dial of a watch this early either.
