Hi
I'm looking for a few Venus 178 parts from the hour recorder mech, anyone got some stashed or even a whole movement for repair?

Venus 178 detent with arbor #8660

Venus 178 hour hammer #8680

Venus 178 hour rec wheel #8600 5.25mm diameter

Venus 178 minute rec wheel #8020

Many thanks

Not the cheapest option, but if nothing else, www.scotchwatch.com/venus_parts_inventory.html shows that they have each of these parts in stock.

detent with arbor #8660 - $68.50
hour hammer #8680 - $120.00
hour rec wheel #8600 5.25mm diameter - $100.00
minute rec wheel #8020 - $115.00

Hi. Thanks.
I have had to resort to scotchwatch. Made my wallet squeak! Can't find the parts anywhere else. One could make a good profit breaking a perfectly good mechanism and selling the parts!

Hi, I am no watchmaker, so I do not know specifically what those parts are. However, I do have a stripped down Venus 178 from a Breitling ref. 734. Its missing all or most of its chrono parts - but the watch runs. Does this have what you need? If so, I am open to an offer!

Thanks,
Joe

Hi Joe,
Thanks for the offer. The parts are all from the hour recorder mech which is under the dial so difficult to tell on yours, however I've now got the parts. Out of interest what were you looking for yours?

I was contacted by another forum member after posting it here yesterday, and I sold the movement today.
So my search for a complete V178 continues. However, due to scarcity of these movements, I will likely post the case/dial/hands for sale... since there is probably someone out there with the opposite problem as me :lingsrock:
