Update: Watch is working perfectly. The battery was dying. I replaced it for a new one and the watch is working perfectly!

Dear sir, This classic 20 year old Breitling wristwatch was bought by me in a well-reputed television auction channel where professionals could testify its originality. It didn't come with box nor papers, although I still have the documents from the auction. In 2014 I sent it to Breitling for a complete service. This service included: refurbishment of the case, changing all seals, partial changing of hands and checking of water resistance. Disassembly, cleaning and replacing of standard movement parts, assembly, lubrication, adjustment and setting of movement function parameters. Changing the battery and replacement of the leather strap. There is a picture of the replaced items in a little plastic bag. The original polishing was given back to it, respecting the pattern of its original release in the 90s. The watch hands that weren't so glowy in the dark anymore are now as vibrant as they used to be back then. A new leather strap was offered to me, but I asked them to keep the original one on the watch (and the new one sent along separately, of course), once it's a very good asset to the watch because the old strap model is not manufatured anymore and is very rare to find. On the outside it's looking great, on the inner part it's been darkened by the wear, but you can still read most of the engravings with the brand name, etc. Since it came from the overhaul I haven't been wearing the watch much and it still has no dents or scratches. I's a verry good looking A57035. It's rare to find one being sold with the original leather strap and a new one being sent along (a new OEM strap costs more than US$ 200.00 alone). I'm dropping the price to $1,000.00! Here goes some really honest pictures. It shows the inner part of the vintage strap. It's been darkened by the years of wear and have some superficial cracks, which is perfecltly normal after 20 years. The bautiful part is that the outside of the strap (the part that really shows) is in great condition! When wearing the watch you'll receive the same compliments that you would have received back in 1995-97. I'll tell you, this strap is what sets the watch apart. Other than that, I must say that Breitling did a wonderful job on its looks. I'm adding other pictures for you to see how bright the watch hands shine in the dark, just like it did when it was first sold by a Breitling retailer. I prefer to have someone else taking care of it and making good use. I just don't want to sell it for a price that is too far from what it's worth. Taking into account Breitling services' costs, you'll pay for a maintenance service (with 1 year warranty) and the price will go up to $1,300.00 in case you decide not to keep it. You can find the same model on Ebay for that kind of price with a decent looking case but not the original/vintage strap and it definitely doesn't come with a brand new OEM strap being sent along, nor a free worldwide shipping. Taking all this into consideration, the fact that the watch is not running is a winning situation for the buyer. |
