Since none of them have anything to do with each other, the title shares no relation and couldn't be further apart in time, feel free to delete them all. The post and the rule are essentially useless.

So edit it - would take less time than whining about the rules you don't like. If free access to a collector community is not worth you bothering to comply with a few simple requirements there are plenty of other places who will happily charge you a sizeable fee for the privilege of complying with more rules.

I use them and will go back to those with much more traffic without having 100 replies to scroll through to get to the newest post, like free www.timezone.com. You can deactivate my account. Good luck with your sweet site!

Try the "View New Post" located under date and time! It works!

Post subject:  Re: Breitling Chronomat 44 Patrouille - AD Complete - $3700

I was in a rush this morning when I posted, I should have waited. So before you shut my account down, a few parting thoughts:

www.breitlingsource.com is ranked in the 800s of most visited sites in the Jewelry category. www.timezone.com is ranked in the low 100s and www.rolexforums is ranked 74th. Rolex forums has a record active users (at one time) of 20,000+ while this site is 395. Unfortunately, I can’t see TZ’s stats but they’re obviously much closer to TRF’s than Breitling Source’s. As I write this, there are 59 people on this entire site, TFR has over 2000 at this exact moment. Since my post this morning, many many hours ago, there has been only one other post on this board and it was a reply to WTB thread. Almost 10% of this site’s forum posts since its inception have been from you alone. That’s not healthy.

Rolex hasn’t made 50 times more watches than Breitling. Breitling has been around longer too. I think Breitlings are incredibly fine watches, frankly they may be superior to Rolex in several instances. Why would their enthusiasts be so much more inclined to congregate and yet nobody really comes here? Both sites are each brand’s predominant enthusiast forums yet one absolutely dominates the other.

TRF has 6 rules on the sales boards and your site has 13, TZ has 12 and WUS 11. The others certainly don’t have a rule applying to your style of infinitely long single user sales posts. Timezone and WUS are completely free and TFR is an extremely well spent $25 a year. Free is not what separates this site from the others, being cumbersome is.

I respect how much time, knowledge, passion and commitment being a moderator is. I’m sure you do a fine job. However, after decades of this hobby and being a known member in the community, I have a good feel for how these boards work. I would submit to you that moderation of the rules would help grow your site to the level of the preferred ones, not overly moderating. If you think there is something else holding this site back, I’d spend time working on that rather than merging posts.

And all of those sites would have deleted any post criticising moderators. Thank goodness we are different.

Oh, and it's not my site, and they're not my rules. As you note I am simply a moderator and I help ensure the rules the site owner has established are applied equally to all members - including the ones who can't be bothered to read them and the ones who complain when they are made to comply with them.
