Here is my question for those of you that have owned a Breitling Canvas strap. How long are they off the shelf? I have seen different lengths mentioned at different online vendors. I have a 7 1/2 inch wrist and the strap will be going on my Seawolf.
The second question is this. How is the quality on these Canvas straps. I have seen comments on the inter web about them fraying on the edges fairly quickly. Anybody have this experience? Thanks for any help on this. I will be going through my A.D. If I decide to buy so it won't be cheap.

Hi guys. Bumping this up in hopes that somebody will give me some advice on these Canvas straps. I hate to spend that kind of money if they are short and of low quality. We all know there are at least five or six guys out there making custom canvas straps that are pretty nice and high quality. Thanks for any help.

I also have a 7.5" wrist, and the OED military straps fit just fine.

As far as how they hold up -- I haven't had any problems. My guess is that the wear on the strap that some may complain about occurs at the very tip, which is constantly bent and handled to fit through the keepers. I use a butterfly deployant on mine, which avoids this.

As far as your intended use goes, I tried out one of my military straps on my Seawolf, but didn't like that combination. For me, the relative thinness of the military strap is ill-matched to the bulk/weight of the watch case. If I were going for a military strap look with the Seawolf, I think I would opt for the new military/rubber strap, like the one that is being marketed for the Avenger Bandit. More mass to the strap, and the "canvas look", all at the same time.

Thanks for the response Jim. I was looking at the military rubber strap too. I guess I will head off to the AD soon and get one ordered.
