Hey guys, I just got a Montbrillant as a gift and im trying to adjust the bracelet to my wrist.

Ive sized many bracelets before...never had an issue...but this one is giving me a hard time. Is there anything I need to do other than just unscrew it? its SUPER tight. Should i spray it with some WD-40 or something to losen it up?

thanks

Turn clockwise first to release the loctite and then it will loosen.

If you still can't get it to break free, try using a blowtorch to heat up the side with the loctite. Just be very careful, I'm not sure if you can hurt the finish or not this way. I have never done it myself, but know that this is an acceptable way to remove the screw. Hope this helped!

If you stripped a screw head then it's going to have to be taken out by a repair shop, any competent watch technician should be able to help you out. I wouldn't keep trying though, you may make it worse.

I was going to suggest boiling water as soon as I saw this thread. That or a hairdryer (set on it's hottest setting) usually does the trick even with Doxas (which are notoriously tough to unscrew due to way too much Loctite), but if you've stripped the head of the screw, then I think it's a bit late for that now.....

If I was you I'd be taking it to an AD and then it's their problem to remove the screw. If they can't do it, then it'd probably need a trip back to Breitling as worst case scenario they will need to drill the screw out.

For me the hairdryer usually does the job perfectly (after loosing most of my hair I simply had to find another function for it hahaha), but you have to be careful: the steel parts can be extremely hot for your fingers after heating!
