Looking at a croc strap for a blackbird. I'm more of a bracelet guy so this would be my first breitling strap.

Do you guys like the Deployment or Buckle better? I think there is about a $200 difference.

Any thoughts on if the Genuine strap worth it?

I'm ordering online since there are very few AD's in my state so I can't really try them on. (CO and one of the three or so is consistently disappointing, unfortunately.)

Edited to reflect deployant vs deployment, Added Poll.

Quite a few threads on deploy vs. tang. General consensus is that the deployant is more comfortable for most, and causes less wear and tear on the strap, but if you have smaller wrists the factory deploy may not work as the curve isn't sufficient to sit comfortably.

Is factory croc worth it, well that's personal choice. You can get cheaper, but they likely won't be as good a quality as the Breitling strap which is certainly among the best available.

For me, the deployant feels less comfortable on the wrist, but it's much easier to fine-tune a fit. With the buckle, you're stuck with the hole positions for fit lengths. With the deployant, I can adjust it day-to-day, or hour-to-hour, as my wrist size changes slightly.

I have some of both tang and deployment, I like them evenly the same and I have a small wrist, definately go genuine breitling, nothing beats the quality

Deployment is the choice for me, IMHO once fitted the strap will outlast the Tang. As for Genuine vs non-OEM.....Genuine all the way, you can't beat the quality!

I have both options & almost always find the perfect buckle length is exactly halfway between the holes.
The deployant is tailor fit really, so gets my vote.

Deployant for me every time. Either an OEM or from ABP.

Sorry it is an old pic, but suits I think.

There are 14 Breitling OEM in my collection (not sure if it is something I should be proud of).
Calfs and Crocos.
6 of them are the Deployant style mounted on Breitling deployant buckle.
The rest are tang style straps but mounted on non Breitling butterfly style buckles.
I personally prefer the butterfly deployant as opposed to the Breitling Deployant for the reasons already mentioned by Roff, I find the Breitling Deployant less comfortable and yes I do have girlie wrists.
The problem with tang style buckles is that they destroy a strap in just one spot in a matter of months and the rest of the strap is perfectly fine however useless.
Butterfly deployants however are very gentle to the strap and to my wrist ;-)
Certainly they do not offer the same degree of adjustment flexibility as the Breitling OEM deployant but for me at least this has not been an issue.
Oh and there is no Breitling logo on my butterfly buckles but frankly that is something I could not give a hoot about.

For those who think that nothing beats Brritling strap quality, you need to check out ABP. Value for money may be better with Breitling (that varies with choice of ABP leather and options), but I would give ABP the edge on absolute quality.

Deploy every day... I love mine, as said above the perfect fit (at least for me) is easily achievable.

That Blackbird looks stunning on a Brown Croco - I need to try that combo on my Blackbird. 8)

I really wish that Breitling would use croc leather on the inside as well since I get sweat stains in matter of few weeks.

Good feedback. I now know its deployant vs deployment. Looks like everyone is for the Deployant vs buckle and for OEM. I do have some other questions based on replies.

Does the deployant feel like wearing a breitling bracelet?

Sounds like the deployant keeps the straps intact longer? How much longer -- i.e. will the deployant pay for itself by not wearing out the straps?

I personally don't think the deployment wears like a bracelet, but see what others say. And yes the deployment will definately pay for itself by extending the life of the straps. My tang buckle straps get destroyed in that one area like wessa and others said above.
