Hi All, I have been asked by a work colleague if I can look at the watch her grand mother gave her. It's got an AS 970 movement in it but an old one. It looked like it just needed a clean but on closer inspection I believe the hairspring had moved on the balance as when I was removing the balance bridge the hairspring came off. After a clean the the stud came off the hairspring, it doesn't look damaged but having not had this before I am unsure on the best way to remove the tapered pin to reattach the hairspring. Does anyone know how to do this or have any tips to make it easier? Thanks, Chris |

Buy a new hairspring / balance complete - no other feasible options that I am aware of. |
