I recently bought a Colt Skyracer and noted the secondhand is off it's mark. Is this a common occurrence for their quartz movements? For a $2K watch I would expect the secondhand to strike on the mark. I'm still under warranty, so it may be going back.

My B-1 superquartz is the same but as it has an analogue/digital display it doesn’t bother me. I’ve noticed that it does hit the markers at times so it may be a gearing issue. Check it against another example at your AD to see if there is a difference.

Some of the quartz models (B-1, Aerospace) only move the minute hand in 20 sec increments, so three times a minute. I believe this is done to save on battery life.

This may be why some complain of the minute hand not aligning with the markers at all times.

Generally, the Breitling quartz models with seconds hands have very exact alignment with the 60 sec markers, from the few I have owned.
