As bnewbie says.

'Official' ladies watches are the Cockpit Lady, Starliner and Colt Oceane. The SOH38 is also small enough for many ladies, as is the Montbrillant - although less 'lady like'. Of course there's no rule that says a lady can't wear any Breitling!

Sorry my first post is with a question

I have a query regarding the cockpit lady.
There seems to be two different models out there at the moment. One has a square in the centre of the face and diamonds at the 1,2,4,5,7,8,10,11 hour positions.
The other one which i suspect is the newer one has no diamonds (on the entrance model) and has an ovalish square in the centre of the face....hope this makes sense!

My wife's preference is the former and i wanted to find out is this still being made and readily available?Prices seem equal for both models.
Model numbers would be helpful too :lingsrock:

Thanks in advance and must say a brilliant forum

They aren't different models, rather makeovers of the same model. The 'racetrack' was a redesign for 2008. The older one is available with either 8 diamonds or 11 diamonds (obviously no diamond at 3 because of the date) - just a different dial option of the same model.

Incidentally - my wife has a TT Cockpit Lady, black dial, 8 diamonds (pre redesign)- it's a very nice dress watch.

RIght, my post wasn't terribly clear. The letters represent the different metals, but all dial combos for that metal will have the same reference - should have been more precise.

So even though they have given the model a makeover, the pre-redesign one with the square in the centre of the face and 8 diamonds is still made and readily available??

No, it's not still being produced, but you might be able to find some at an AD as they were only redesigned a year ago.

My wife would have a somewhat different opinion.

After a bit of a search we sourced the only pre model cockpit lady our AD could find in the country.
It's the steel model,8 diamonds on the white/silver face.Really nice.

I would just like to say thanks for your help as we welcome a new breitling owner to the family :lingsrock:
