After years of simply ignoring quartz for mechanical and looking down my nose at quartz watches, a family member put a bug in my ear about the Aerospace. A former fighter pilot, he owns three and highly recommended them to me as a tool watch. Being military myself, I did a bit of reading on these excellent pieces and found myself seeing exactly what he told me I would: brilliant functionality from a very reputable, independent brand. The prospect of a Breitling serving more function than simply as a show piece intrigued me, and the functions were just what I could use in a watch.

I know Breitling has an extensive and rich history with aviation. This watch nods to that history and goes hand in hand with the functionality my family member expressed in his testimony to how excellent this line of watches is. There's a lot of science that goes into SuperQuartz these days, and it's easy to see how expertly Breitling had paired that with their renowned quality in watchmaking. After numerous articles stated exactly what I have here, I found myself looking for the right generation. Of course, newer is nice, but I can't stand the skeleton hands on the Evo. The Avantage is also excellent, but I again didn't like the polished hands. This being the case (and anyone who's ever heard me give advice on buying the right watch for them, "you have to like looking at it if you're going to spend the money wisely!") I opted for the E75362 generation.

I love the hands. The lume is perfect and incredibly legible. The black and white contrast stands out in any light. This, coupled with the second timezone feature (here it's currently set to Stuttgart local time, as that's where I'm headed in the coming months) makes this watch a perfect choice for me.

Opening and rambling thoughts for only having owned it for 24 hours, but it's new to me. I'm sure you've felt the same when your new timepiece arrives and you can't stop singing its praises. Yes, I still have my automatics sitting in the watch box and I'll continue to collect those in the coming years...but this is just a breath of fresh air.

Nice! Just got the same watch. My thoughts in choosing this particular generation of Aerospace were similar to yours. I think its the sweet spot for this particular model.

My Aerospace is circa 1994.........

.....masquerading as a Navitimer and still in somewhat active rotation after 20 years. Experts will note the period incorrect bracelet - though it is legit Breitling. The original gray leather strap rides during winter months only and takes a breather during the hot Arizona summers.

Great great watch :lingsrock:

I think your piece is the generation just before mine .......

I picked up mine around 5 years ago and still think its great and looks sharp.

I am not so keen on the newer versions with the added smaller numbers - the four numerals look just right don't they 8)

I've had a couple of Aerospaces now; the e75362 and the Avantage. While I prefer the Avantage for the extra size and the applied silver, non- italic Arabics, I loved both. Great watches. Remains my go- to watch for when I want something light and spot-on accurate.
