First post from a long time Breitling lover and lurker on the forums. Love the site guys. You've provided this Breitling fan with a ton of education and entertainment.

I just picked up my 3rd Breitling -- the Montbrillant 01 Limited in steel. Since I haven't seen any other reviews of this watch, I thought I'd make my first post. The Montbrillant 01 Limited has quickly become my favorite watch.

I know that the main critique of the Montbrillant has been the small size. The jump up to 40mm does wonders for the watch and, for someone with medium sized wrists, it's close to perfect (by comparison, my 44mm Datora is about as large as I could reasonably go on a watch I'm wearing to court or in the office -- while the Montbrillant has less heft, I feel like the smaller size and cleaner face adds significant class).

For much the same reason, I went with the white face (also, the face of the Datora is black). I am a huge fan of the way the white sets off the gold B and the red second hand.

This is also my first Brietling with an exhibition back. I am not sure why, but the back is a huge plus for me. Even a week later, I find myself staring into the back in amazement. This is a feature I value.

Gold croc strap looks great against the white face. This is truly a watch that goes great with everything from a suit to a tshirt. And as with everything Breitling, the construction of the whole package is first rate.

In sum, I am a happy buyer and a huge fan of this watch. Highly recommended. Pics below.

What a nice piece. In white, I'm sure it looks larger than 40mm.

The Montbrilliant is a real classic and one of the most beautiful watches ever made by Breitling IMO.

Big congratulations to you!

Congratulations, it's a beautiful watch. I'm with you on the exhibition back. Last night I told my wife that I want to get a better magnifying glass so that I can see more details in the movement of my 01.

Congrats, beautiful watch! I wonder why only the limited editions have (except TOC) display backs - the B01 is worth to be shown, even in Chronomats!
Enjoy!
Robert

Thanks guys. I really appreciate the comments.

Grenhall - The Montbrillant line is my favorite of all Breitling. I love the throwback look and the script - "Automatic" on the 01 and "Breitling" on my Datora below (stock photo). There's just something about the retro look that appeals to me.

Robert - glad to hear I'm not the only one obsessed with the exhibition back. When I'm bored, I find myself staring into the back of the watch. No idea why all Breitlings are not exhibition backed, but I'm glad this one is.

Verry nice watch. Is the open back of the watch from the factory? I have never seen a Breitling with a glass back. Looks stunning!
