Hi Folks.

I wonder if anyone can give me some advice. I purchased a Pro 1 strap for my Super ocean but the lugs don't fit well. You can clearly see it's not a flush fit from the pics and is impossible to fit (the pin just doesn't click in place).

The Pro 2 fits perfectly well.

Is it a case of purchasing new lugs. If so, can anyone give me some pointers as to how I make sure I get the right ones?

Many thanks,

Stu

*Just to add, it's a 20mm strap.

Breitling bracelets have specific end links that fit each watch. There won't necessarily be an end link that fits the Pro 2 bracelet to your specific watch as I don't believe the Pro 2 was being manufactured at the time. I'm not as familiar with watches for that particular time so I could be wrong when say that the Pro 2 did not overlap with your superocean production dates. If they did overlap then you would need to Source new end links which you will probably only be able to do from Breitling.

What is the code stamped on the endlink? I believe it should be 878A or 879A (?) for Prof. I bracelet on that SO model.

Hey guys, sorry for the late reply, I've been away.

I've just checked.

The Pro 2 end links (that fit) are stamped 131A

The links on the Pro 1 (that don't fit) are stamped 872A

Not sure where to look for the correct part?

Update on this one.

I contacted my nearest AD who said that they couldn't get me the correct part as they claimed "Pro 1 bracelet is not compatible with your watch".

I then contacted Breitling who said the same...until I pointed out many examples of the SuperOcean with a Pro1. They then got back to me and recommended a part number. I went back to the AD who said they wouldn't sell me the part as their system says it's incompatible...
Breitling refused to sell me the parts also (as they are Trade Only/ADs).

I did some looking around and found this company on ebay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/swisstime188 ... 7675.l2559
Business name: SwissTime1884

He knew exactly what part I needed. Luckily he had it in stock and shipped the next day. Just fitted it and it's a perfect fit. If you guys need any parts, give this guy a call. Really impressive service.

Breitling is doing so well they really don’t need us anymore. Imagine that either these fools don’t know their own product , or don’t care.
