Tried manually & in the watch winder it holds the time for 5 min and then dead... :(

Anything else I can try other then send it for service ££££££

It's unusual for it to completely die just because it needs servicing, that sounds like something else is wrong. The watchwinder isn't much help as watchwinders only prevent the mainspring from winding down, they don't actually wind the watch.

The only thing that I can suggest is that you make sure that the crown is in the right position for winding and then giving it 40 good winds. If it still only lasts for five minutes then clearly a problem. I would also take it from it's stopped condition and then give it quite a lot of movement and see if it lasts any longer - not likely very long, but if it's more than 5 minutes then it may be an indication that the problem is with the manual winding mechanism rather than the main spring.

Either a way, I fear a trip to a service centre is in your future :(
