I bought a Breitling Superocean Heritage Chronograph about 2 months ago. Yesterday, for some reason I just couldn't get the crystal clean. No matter how much I wiped it, it kept looking smudged. It was pretty frustrating, but then I noticed this mark between the 4 and 5 that would not wipe away. It almost looked like it was under the crystal. Then, later that night the mark was gone, then it reappeared, then it wasn't there when I woke up this morning. I put the watch on this morning and while getting ready for work, it came back.

I feel like I'm going crazy, but I was finally able to snap a picture. I attached it. Anyone have any ideas what this is?

Could you have scuffed off the antireflective coating ? If you angle the crystal toward a light source can you see a "change" in the usual
purpleish color when the light reflection passes over the area?

I really don't think I did. I brought it into the AD, they sent it to Breitling and they're replacing it under the warranty. They said they don't cover the crystal, but because the watch is brand new they said they'd fix it.

I was curious. Are they going to service the watch when replacing the crystal? I thought I read somewhere that anytime they pull the movement, they service the watch. Wasn't sure if that was true or not. And to be honest, I don't know if it's necessary to pull the movement to change the crystal.
