After years of owning my navitimer world, I've now come to realize the slide ruler and dial do not perfectly align.
No matter how I try to align the inner and outer numbers, you always get number that simply do not align.

In the first attached picture, i've aligned the number 25 (between 7 and 8 o'clock position). Notice how for example 45, 50, 55, 60, 65 slide rule numbers do not align with their counterparts.

In the 2nd picture I've aligned 60 (12 o' clock position). In this case 12, 16, 24, 25 are some examples in the slide rule that do not align.

Have other navitimer owners experienced this defect?

Well, I have to admit, Ernesto, that you got me curious. I just took a look at my two Navi 01's, and the alignment is dead on -- all around the dial -- on both watches.

Did you happen to buy the watch new or did you acquire it pre-owned? If the warranty is still in effect I would send it off the a Breitling service center and have them correct it!

I purchased the watch new at the Breitling boutique in New York. Unfortunately I did not really notice till now. I am outside the warranty period. Do I still have a case to require Breitling to own up to the manufacturing mistake and fix it or is this now my fault for not having noticed it when I purchased it?

Scooter, it seems it is a hit or miss when getting a navi. Apparently not too many people care about this type of precision and let it slide.

I just checked my two Navi's and one of them is spot on, the other one is off just like yours.

I've ha d the same issue on my pre 2014 navi world actually that was the reason for me to swap it for a newer version. I'm not sure if I am correct but since 2014 Breitling has changed the dial and added "swiss made" at 6. Also the slide rule is aligned properly.Image

Folks I wanted to update you all on this matter. I stopped by the NY bretling boutique over the weekend to see what their position was over this quality control failure and see if they would own up to the mistake.

I was shocked to see that both the sales rep and later on the in house watchmaker simply disregarded the misalignment as a non issue. When the watchmaker tells me the misalignment was within an acceptable range I was utterly disappointed.
He offered to bubble up the issue to HQ in Switzerland to see their take on the matter.

I must say the exchange left a sour taste in my mouth. I really expected more from a brand that claims to be instruments for professionals. My confidence on the brand is now shattered.
