Well there is not "certainly something very wrong", a service is overkill, and expecting a grey market dealer to cover a US$700 service cost through Breitling is dreaming in technicolour. The watch needs a regulation - 5 minutes and a few bucks at any watchmaker and the watch never goes out of your sight!

I see you're in Ontario, anyone you recommend in the GTA to do it ?

Thanks again for your replies, much appreciated.

Right Time in Atrium on Bay (Dundas between Yonge and Bay) generally have a watchmaker on site.

Looks like there is a Breitling Service Center downtown Toronto, so I'll just drop off my watch there for them to have a look at it....

I was travelling on business, and left my SA 2 in a watchwinder - the time loss is cumulative..

To top things off, customer service at authenticwatches.com is NOT getting back to me.. Lesson learned I suppose, but I'll rip them apart on every forum I find.

You'll learn another lesson if you take it to the service centre - they'll tell you it needs a several hundred dollar service.

Yeah, but if I take it anywhere BUT a AD - authenticwatches will void my so called "warranty"

Which is worthless anyway - it's a warranty from a grey market dealer.

They indicated that my watch would be sent to an AD, at which point they would send it to Breitling Service Centre.... All shipping is at my cost, which is unreal.

Anyway, I will wait and see what the Toronto BSC says - if costs are high, I can decline it and only pay $40 CDN to have my watch shipped back to me.

Yeah, that's what they said. First grey market dealer in the history of the world to pay for a Breitling service, or their own unauthorised watchmaker does it, I know where my money would be. Estimate refusal fee from the service centre is likely at least twice what an independent would charge for a regulation (which anyone can do and involves no spare parts).

Your money, your choice I guess.

I appreciate your responses and guidance, I truly hope its an easy fix - but at this point, I am beyond frustrated and want to leave it for Breitling Service Center to assess my "new" watch...

So BSC called me, they've had my watch in their workshop and it seems to run perfectly... I will call them back tomorrow

So...as a intrigued wannabe owner of a Breitling (dying for a SA 2) purchasing from a place like Chrono24 or Authentic Watches is "grey market"? Meaning it could be old stock sitting on there shelves and then sold as new? Meaning.... no Breitling warranty?

Any non authorised retailer of 'new' Breitlings is grey market, meaning they bought from an AD and likely there is no Breitling warranty. Chrono24 is just a marketplace, no different from eBay. Search will help you a lot.

I will keep you posted, BSC took it for an assessment - no warranty questions asked, but repairs - IF ANY, would have to be pre-approved by me according to the receipt.

AuthenticWatches insisted I send it back to them, at which point they send it to an AD, who then sends it to BSC themselves ( so they claim ).
