Ok, a weirdish question for the experts on here
A friend was showing me his Breitling Emergency last week at it looked really cool
However although the model number was an E5****** on the back the actual dial was a later E7 style ie fatter numbers etc
It was a pretty rare "logo/squadron" dial which made me think that at some point either for personal gratification or fiscal, the dial had been changed at some point by a previous owner?
Do members think it's as simple as that or was there an overlap between the two models especially as this is (supposedly) an original display team watch?
I guess without opening up the watch to check the insides how can you tell what the watch originally left the factory as/
Without contacting Breitling direct is there any site that you can enter the model/ref number and get a steer on the history ie prod date/colour of face etc etc ??
ps the watch has a pro 1 Emergency bracelet which would make me also assume it is a basic E5 originally although I appreciate it's easy to change a strap........
thanks in advance for any help
ps I know you don't like "squadron" editions Rolf ........................

Pictures would help. Are you sure it wasn't one of the original 243MHz military versions?

Yeah, false accusations are likely to get a response, interesting strategy. There is nowhere online to check.

Roff
It was a Cruz Del Sur Argentina Display Team example
No it was the basic consumer 121 frequency
I think the dial must have been changed at some point to be honest I can't think of any other explanation
It's a pain to have to contact Breitling all the time
Depending on who you get they can be very unhelpful/condescending
In my past life I was Worldwide Head of Sales at the Financial Times but even with that "kudos" I received very mixed reactions to my problems with my first Emergency.
I may be biased but my dealings with the head office/AD's remind me of buying a semi expensive car from a main dealers.
Incredibly helpful when buying new, not so helpful when there's a problem/help needed................

ps
All joking aside regarding my previous posts it is thanks to you and your associates that make owning a Breitling achievable for people like myself.
Without this site, many, many watch owners would be at the mercy of AD's and Breitling for information and help that you provide for free.
I can only thank you on behalf of us said owners for everything you provide on a voluntary basis.
You will never get enough thanks for your time but please believe me it is so so much appreciated.
