Hi all,

I bought a project watch. It appears to be a Breitling Premier 788 dating to 1945 - based on the serial number - with a Venus 152 movement. Could someone here look at the pictures of the movement and tell me if this is, indeed, a Venus 152? Obviously it is missing many parts. The caseback seems correct but it’s in a different style that I’m used to seeing from Breitlings of this era. Any details you experts may know are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Best,
Daniel

Is the plate not marked with the movement number under or near the balance?

Nope, there is not a single marking under there. I even did some disassembly to check. Is this a problem? See images. Image

Looking for more clues, I took the dial off. Here is the underside of the movement and dial, the latter of which is marked 8. There is also a star logo on the dial. Is this genuine? Image

it is a 15x 13 lignes - nothing else would fit the case.
but all the dial side parts that would make it a 152 are missing (as are most other parts)
quite a project ahead…

Hi - the 'star' denotes a venus movement but the base parts do not look like a 150 movement (The base of the 152 movement)
A part lists can be found here:

https://www.cousinsuk.com/PDF/categorie ... %20150.pdf

the combined, and the barrel and train wheel bridges are different. Unfortunately you have none of the chronograph parts. Best option would be to find a replacement movement - probably cheaper than buying all the missing parts individually.
