I stumbled over this watch and bought it without finding very much information about it. The seller stated that it is from ca 1935 an is an earlier version of the 768. Does anybody here know anything about it? Any info is appreciated.

Hi. A number of us have had some fairly extensive discussions about these. There are quite a few — and this sure looks “correct” — but we can’t find any documentary evidence that these watches marked 3020 are actually correct.

I took the back of and found some interesting inscriptions. First of all, on the top on he back it the is 1943 7 20 engraved, maybe the manufacturing date? Under the swiss made mark there is what seems to be a serial number. And at the bottom, under the 3020 mark it says 8897. Pictures below.

The 1943.7.20 might be a service date?

primary issue with these is that they lack the 6-digit Breitling serial, add that to the undocumented reference number ......
