Post subject:  Chronograph Service Recommendations UK?

I've just bought a 1940s Brietling with a venus 175 movement. The advert says watch runs well but chronograph needs a service. In the past I've jused Stephen Burrage to work on my watches and I've been very happy but he is retiring. Can people recommend anybody else?

Post a picture, we'd love to see the watch!

There seems to be a retiring epidemic going on with uk watchmakers!

Richard Askham is a good shout http://thewatchspotblog.com

This is proving to be more difficult than I thought. Some don't want to work on watches that old and say no parts are available. The parts bit I expected but I've spoken to one person that sounds hopeful - peterrobertswatches.com but waiting to hear back from the other emails I've fired off.

Andy Leftley http://www.timeworldservices.co.uk does older pieces I think.

Just got a recommendation from Nic Green for these chaps. The certainly seem to have venus movement experience

Here are some pictures. The condition looks pretty good for a 70+ year old year!

Message just back from the chap that is servicing my watch

"I have had a look at your Breitling - it is a very nice example of the model. It requires a full service ... new minute recorder jump spring"

I'm pretty happy with that so a big thank you to Rene van den Nieuwenhuijzen for the watch being as described in the advert.
