Hi, I came across this Gold-plated Breitling on ebay. The caseback says 1191. It is said to have a V188 movt.

I did a quick google search, and it seems like there's a wide variation in dials and hands types., which is quite confusing!

I've attached pictures from ebay. I confess to being attracted to the "shaded quadrant" look of the dial.

There's some wear on the plated case which I can see. I'm wondering though if the hands & crown are correct? There seem to be so many variants on the Web that I'm not sure which is a franken and which is not.

My gut feel (from a noob perspective) is that hands are correct, but crown is wrong (too big?). Movt does look like a V188, the bits and bobs seem correct.

Advice would be greatly appreciated - thanks in advance!

I'm amazed how you can identify these things - is it a subtle difference in shape? (which I could only see after examining it real carefully).

You're amazing! Much appreciated Fred!

Are there genuine dials with Incabloc on them?
