Based on the serial number it would be an early Venus 178 model. Pricing varies widely based on condition. May we see some photos?

Hi,

This is my first post. I have a few questions and need help with my uncle's watch which was given to me. It is a Navitimer 806. The serial number 871592 and all black dial and never serviced.
Basing on the serial number, what year model is it? How much is it these days. It is in great working condition.

Yes, it's 1956, and it's a beautiful watch indeed, and the dial layout is quite rare.

It's impossible to say what it's worth, as at the end of the day it's worth what somebody is ready to pay, and it also very much depends on the selling platform (that is of course if you are interested in selling it at all), ebay is one price, and a dealer another.

But one thing is for sure, the best thing you can do, is to keep it - as the early Navitimers are going up in value with the speed of light.

I have written an article about Vintage Navitimers, you can see it here http://www.kurt-b.com and get to know much of what's worth knowing about them

Hope that helped, Kurt B

It is an early Venus 178 indeed, and what a beautiful watch you have. An untouched 806 like that is not easy to come by these days... no matter what happens in the future please
Don't let any watchmaker handle it unless you run it by us first.

Why have all the details of the watch vanished?

Seems a bit rude to come asking for advice and then take the details that are helpful to forum members away, doesn't it?

Seems wrong that you can see a PM? Did the recipient post it?
