yes it is; very, very rare.
undocumented in catalogs or advertisements, assume serial dates it to 1970/71 ?

based on the Venus 178 it uses the the same case as the Navitimer 806.

lovely heirloom.

Yes, according to serial it is made 1971. My local watchmaker looked at it yesterday and he then till me it was rare. Under The years i had it it has just rested in my safe and i havent tought about it much. He looked at many auktion houses and watch stores inventory without finding one.

have seen less than a handful over the years, apparently a very small production run, replaced by the very similarly designed ref. 7808, based on the Valjoux 7740 - never "made it" into catalogs.

nice !

Yea, saw that one on the web. So If i understand correctly its not worth moore because the factthey are rare? 2000euro seems like a little cheaper then most navitimers.

Navitimers are almost always more expensive than comparable Chronomat's The trouble with rare pieces is you have to convince a potential buyer it's genuine and it's really tough with some models without a paper trail. In most instances they're rare because they weren't popular when made so not many were sold. The Navitimer is just a lot more desirable for most. As to value, the reality is they're worth only what someone is willing to pay and that changes all the time. I'd keep my eyes open for the correct crown, if you ever consider selling, so nobody has anything to nitpick about. It's probably the same as the Navitimer so shouldn't be impossible to find. Just make sure it is period correct and has the correct number of teeth.
