Hello Guys,

I'm new here. It's good to finally be part of the Breitling community. I've been mostly a vintage Heuer guy but the 815 really caught my eye. I recently acquired this watch and would love to dress it up as periodly correct as possible. What straps should i look for? Should i go for a vintage 16mm buckle or just settle for the current production (18mm)? Was the "twin jet" buckle designed solely for the navitimer? What type of buckle did the 815 use? Sorry for the noob questions...just excited for my first Breitling i guess! Looking forward to all your helpful replies!

Mario

Congratulations on your purchase, I will defer to the vintage experts with respect to your questions but I will welcome you to the Breitling Source!

Thanks for the welcome @56Scooter! So I finally got the watch over the weekend. I put on a DB10 rally strap and I think it's a nice fit. I'm also waiting for the custom lizard strap/twin jet buckle from Bill Shaine to arrive. I am totally happy with the watch. However, I noticed that the sweep hand is not the original for the 815 but is actually from the Navitimer 806? Any leads for an original 815 silver sweep hand would surely be appreciated. This is my first vintage Breitling and I'm pretty sure it won't be the last! Thanks in advance Breitling Source!
