Here is my Circa 1967 1765 Unitime. It was purchased at RAF Bentwaters while stationed there. It does not have a serial number and does say Water Proof on the back case. I am under the direct impression that since this was not an imported watch and purchased through the military BX, no import duty was required ergo no numbering. When I had the watch service by Horological Services in Philadelphia, PA, USA ( the only vintage watch service that Breitling suggested I send the watch to), they informed me it was a vintage 1966-67. I am the original owner and have had many years of great service from this time piece.
So it seems that any of these era watches that were purchased outside the USA where no duty was collected at the time of sale, were not stamped with a serial number.

Did you look inside the caseback for a serial number?

Not yet. I am reluctant to do so. Horological Services had indicated there was not one on the inside of the case. I'm still in limbo as to a reliable value.

So it seems that any of these era watches that were purchased outside the USA where no duty was collected at the time of sale, were not stamped with a serial number. welcome to the forum - what a wonderful piece. no connection to US imports at all, the very first batch of cases for the Unitime (probably 1967, because that is the first time it appears as a “Unitime AVI” in a Trautmann Germany flyer) was produced without serial numbers. Cases and bezels are the same size as the 765CP at a bezel diameter of 41mm, all later (and serialized) Unitime 1765 use the “fat case” of the 7650 with a ca. 43mm bezel. this is the only example of a correct post-1930 Breitling without a serial number on the case (that we have found and confirmed above reasonable doubt)

Thank you WatchFred, Finally someone with definitive information. Was there ever an estimate as to how many of this first era Unitimes were actually produced? Was the movement in the larger ( post 1968-69 version ) the same as the 1966-67 or different due to the size increase of the bezel and case?

no, we have no indication how many were produced. movements used are the same

Do the 66-67 era Unitimes without serial numbers exhibit any positive or negative interest in regards to collector values? Is it possible for you to suggest a legitimate and professional path to take for selling the time piece? Thank you again for the assistance.

we've seen some doubts about these in the past that might have affected valuations, but they should be above doubt now. ebay would be an option, of course - or listing it on chrono24.com or you can message me, I may be interested.

Is the arrow hand on the sub reg an easy way to determine it is a “first execution”. Or are arrow hands also on the later versions? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

if both are correct (and this isn’t a given): yes easiest and best “tell” is the diameter and case thickness, we actually “discovered” these had to exist some years ago when I found a NOS bezel for my 1765 Unitime, just to find out it was way to small to fit my watch
