I have come across a vintage Breitling, Reference 168. I am thinking of purchasing, as it is a super cool "Tank" looking watch, but I don't know if what the guy is asking is even fair. I have searched and searched the web looking for any info on this watch, but can't find anything. Sorry, I'm looking for answers on my first post here, and thanks in advance for any help!

perhabs the solution is, that this is the wrong ref number.

I think, you have no picture - so you have to descrcipe the watch.

if it is a military pilot's watch with rotating bezel it is perhabs a 768 (not 168).

regards

Stephan

Yeah, I know. I couldn't find anything either. All I found was one picture of the same reference on breitling-museum.com

I have absolutely no idea about value on these but, personally, I would buy it for $600. I think it's a nice looking watch!

price is far from unreasonable for a correct 18k piece - if you like the size.

and PLEASE do not refer to that "museum" site as a reliable source, the majority of the shown 1940s and 1950s watches are fakes.

Ok, no more referencing that "museum" site, and thanks for the heads up! I decided to pass on the watch. I was more interested in the fact that it was gold (as I don't have any gold watches), but decided it was, in fact, too small for my liking.
