Looks awesome Rene, is the movement v72c on this? Why is the caseback inscribed differently?

I really couldnt tell you San, outside some vague references to catalogs I have never seen this is the first time I have seen one 'In the flesh' or even in pics ! Maybe Breitling only made 1 ? , but I am not a big believer is series of 1 pcs so there must be others

just read the offer again, seller says its a Valjoux 88 , 38mm diameter , waterproof screwback case , serial 819xxx

Valjoux 88 I think. Rene, very, very rare, never seen one in the metal, gut feeling says ok, but have no reference at hand to say anything relevant, hope somebody more competent will chime in.

The 803 I remember seeing were non-moonphase, but we had similar discussions about moonphase and non-moonphase 799s.

Roff knows more. Hope he will have some input. This is too - potentially - important a watch to play Shah of Blah.

Besides the caseback being very different, the inscription on the bridge looks unusual too! Can't seem to find any info on the 803 on the net.

The 803 was the waterproof Datora, it is documented in Richter and does appear in the 52 catalogue.
The ones I have seen are tricompax triple date, no moonphase. Rest, see above.

Watch is GP, so no surprise the caseback is SS, cruvon has a point with the logo on the caseback, but without seeing other 803 casebacks to compare this is inconclusive.
