do not like this one, can u ask the seller for a good pic of the caseback, including reference and serial number ?

almost convinced caseback will not show anything resembling correct markings, dislike the bridge marking too.

Hmmm, no expert but all of Fred's pix on the Daytora (not even sure if this is one) says "Daytora" except the 2018. The one I posted does not say Daytora, but unlike Fred's pix this one has round sub dials while the 2018 listed show oval subdials.

Stay clear.

No model number and a serial number that dates to the early 60s is enough to say that it's wrong. As Fred says the bridge stamping is also wrong - take a loot at the close up and you can see that it doesn't look quite right.

Thanks for the advice, it was priced quite a bit lower than others like it, and in the time I was looking at it the offers when from 1 to 3 some someboday likes it. All offers declined, BTW.

I may have found one to knock the Top Time from its pearch...but the price near $3k is a bit stiff. What is a fair price for a 2031 Datora? Not much ebay history and this one appears to have sold but be relisted. At any rate pretty nice looking watch, no?

edit: this is in relation to the first Datora so we won´t be confused:

thanks for the link, definitely frankenfake, not even a very good one.

there is no ref. no. on the caseback, but there IS a serial number on it, 963xxx; this would date the watch to 1962, 7 years before the Valjoux 7734 movement was introduced. gotcha.

the second one is very, very nice, it sold some weeks ago for $1,675; would have considered this all the money, frankly, but seller relisted it. much too high to make sense, no way reselling it in the future if you decide to flip it without loosing a ton.

I have seen those picture before and the more you look at them the more astonishing it is, it beggars belief what Craig can do with these pieces hats off to big C

How does this one look? Has that 70's-ish look I like, reminds me a bit of a heuer carrera...got to love the orange hands.
