just a few words of warning, although I doubt anyone here needs to be warned
But as some people are pushing this auction, and deleting comments , on various social media channels I feel compelled to post this
http://www.cornettedesaintcyr.fr/html/i ... 124&lng=en38: reprinted dial , hour and minute hands incorrect
44: hands not period correct
49: complete fabrication , dial reprinted hands not original
50: rare’ish but it looks like its defective watch ? maybe they switched the date in the wrong position and now the day is stuck or damaged ? count on an expensive repair (why wasn’t this repaired in the 1st place , can it be repaired ?)
55: Lume hands on a non-lume dial and geneve on a 1948 watch ? , breitling didnt mover to Geneve until 1953. So reprinted dial at least but whole watch is suspect
56: hands incorrect , might be a complete fabrication
58: rare’ish rare’ish but it looks like its defective watch ? maybe they switched the date in the wrong position and now the day is stuck or damaged ? count on an expensive repair (why wasn’t this repaired in the 1st place , can it be repaired ?)
59: suspect logo I suspect its at least a reprinted dial
61: fake , started its life as a Telda (do a search on Breitling source and you will see what I mean) , the 1980ies and 1990ies re-issues did not use serial numbers and ref numbers from previous era
66: looking at the logo its at least a reprinted dial
84: hand missing ? , what is that all about ?
88: built together franken , look at the date wheel
91: my opinion reprinted dial , would need to see the lume irl to say if redone, but clearly dial too small for the watch, out of a 790
92: I suspect repainted lume / relumed dial
93: Mk1 case with a Mk3 dial and movement ? frankenwatch
95: incorrect bezel
127: I dont trust the write up if the serial number doesnt fit the story how can it be much earlier ? , Breitling had very good serialization and apart from a very well documented 806 all serials match the date , later serials on a earlier watch never happened or documented
