It's an AVI. Says so right on the back.

Greetings to all from Italy.
I'm a fan of vintage chronographs but, unfortunately, lacks a Breitling in my collection and it is time to remove this gap.
I was offered a 765 CP like this for sale on ebay, but from 1967 (ser. 1.142.xxx) and I need advice from all of you who know this model definitely better than me.
The CP 765, which was offered to me, has the massive lugs like those of the model on sale on ebay, the same dial and the same steel bezel with only even numbers.
In essence, it is absolutely the same as for sale on ebay but it is engraved on the caseback 765 CP.
Is it possible that a CP 765 from 1967 has that bezel?
Based on your experience, what could be the right price for an all right model with a correct bezel bought in a store?
I apologize for my poor English and thank all those who want to help me.
Marzio

The 765 CP is really the same watch as the AVI but usually referred to as a Copilot. Different bezels were available in 1967.

First of all, thanks for your answer.
So, if I understand correctly, a steel bezel is correct.
And what about price?
It has been said that the price of that for sale on ebay is too high, but what would be the right one?
On chrono24 there is one on sale at € 3950 and the conditions of its case seem worse.
Consider that the 765 which was offered to me appear like new.

Hi Lemmy, welcome to the forum !

As Paul said , the 765CP is basically 765AVI with the CP instead of the AVI engraved on the back, if anyone knows why the sudden change from AVI to CP I'd be very interested in learning that !

prices ?
they vary greatly depending on condition and on description given , but I have seen a steady increase over the last years
you may want to check Ebay for awhile and see what they are sold for. Store prices are typically higher as the Store owner needs to pay for his inventory, warranties and overhead where private sellers do not offer and warranties nor do they have to pay the overhead costs

if you can post some pics of the watch we can see and comment on its condition , maybe that will help ?

the one on Chrono24 for 3950 looks great at first appearance but it has KXF on the movement , so its either a replacement part (from an incorrect other manufacturer) or a replacement movement
so maybe the 3950 euro watch already has that 'anomaly' included in its price ?

Thank you very much, Dracha
Unfortunately I have no picture of the watch, but it is in really very good conditions.
If I can complete the purchase, surely publish the pictures on this forum.

The correct incision should be WOG, right?
And, as I said before, comparing other photos, it seems to me that the case has been polished and then satined again. Do you agree?
After all, it is a watch with over 45 years of life and some defect may be accepted, if offered the right price.

the correct mark should indeed be WOG , and I agree that movement may be repaired but this may also point to a build together watch with a movement from Clebar or Zodiac that used this import code , with a Breitling Bridge. Again pure speculation but if this was ever repaired by Breitling if would have had the correct code

It can also be a good bargaining point for an interested buyer :D
