I bought this Stainless Steel Datora 784 a few weeks ago on Ebay where the seller stated "some corrosion was seen in the movement by our watchmaker, sold 'as is' " , I pulled the trigger hoping it wasn't a lost cause and took a rather big bet. Its had a little rougher life than the 18K 784 that another member here bought recently but it certainly has not lost any of its appeal (to me at least) and will fit right into my collection

this is only the 2nd piece I sent to Craig from chronodeco.com but I understand why he comes so highly recommended by everyone here

and I just got a very nice update

It was straight forward with no issues accept for the dirt in the case and movement - pics 1 & 2. I cleaned up the dial as best I could - the spots are corrosion spots and are not completely removable - pics 3 before and 6 after. Pics 8 & 9 are of the movement cal number. Pic 10 is the old mainspring - they have not made these since the late 60s so its been in there a long time! Pics 11 & 12 are the finished watch - runs great now.

Congrats Dracha, that's a beautiful transformation, great work Craig! Love how the dial in the picture above sort of has rusty flakes on it and then the next picture is nicely cleaned, well done!

Great work. Kudos all around.

1945 but I actually sold it to someone in Belgium last year. Often the chase and acquisition is the thrill for me. They seem to have done them in both lume and none lume versions.
