Hi everyone,

I am new to the forum and I love just about anything that is old or has a classic look to it. I already have an old waltham pocket watch from the late 1800s and was hoping to add a Breitling to my little collection of time pieces that I have begun. I was hoping that some of the "experts" could take a look at this link and tell me what you think. Even if it has been restored I am still interested. I just don't want a cheap piece of junk imitation. Thanks in advance. All opinions and ideas are welcome.

Think it could be a fake.

Yep, no real attempt to make this look real, still has the EXO import code on the balance cock (for Empire).

Thanks, I can't believe how hard it is to find a classic breitling watch or for that matter any bretling that isn't a fake. I love the look of the old watches. I don't have a big wrist and I find most of the new watches look ridiculous on my wrist. I also prefer the leather band (even though I know it is obviously not original). I never realized what a market there was for knock off watches and frankentstein watches. I appreciate the input. I have been hoping to spend around 500.00-700.00 on a watch. Am I going to low to find something nice? I guess even reputable antique dealers and the likes can be fooled as well, if they don't know what they are buying before reselling. If anyone can steer me towards a similar watch for a reasonable price I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks.

You might find a chronograph in that price range (assuming that you mean $), but you'll be much better off looking at 3 hand models, plenty of those in the price range.
