I traded a guy an old stainless Rolex for this watch 10 years ago. Soon after I lost the top right hand button and put it in a drawer. It's not working now, but I am curious as to the model, year and worth of this watch.

Well, as advertised on the dial it's a Chronomatic - looks like it's from the 70s. If you have model and serial numbers I can be more precise (on either the outside or inside of the caseback), and I'll also check the books for that precise look.

Checked the books - still think it's early 70s - could be very late 60s - serial will confirm for sure.

Value - honestly, not much. In good condition this is probably going to struggle to make $1,000 - probably nearer $800. In this condition you can probably half that - potentially less - I wouldn't pay more than $200 for a watch that doesn't work and needs some cosmetic TLC.

All that said, the Chronmatic is getting some more attention now - especially with the revised 2008 model, and that is going to increase interest in older Chronomatics, which can only lift prices. It's probably worth getting an estimate on repairs to at least know what you are dealing with.

Actually this is the Chronomatic Co-Pilot. You can tell because the right side register is a 15 minutes register and slightly larger in size that the register at 9 o'clock. Probably circa 1969-71.
