Post subject:  Information on two 1970s Breitling please

My friend gave me these two Breitlings for me to find out more and photograph them for the forum.

The serial numbers are 134#### and 135####, which dates them both to 1970.

The Sprint has model number 2212 and the Navitimer has model number 806.

Both are, of course, manual wind and are original in every way (apart from the straps), as you can see. I like the fact that the dials haven't been restored and they each show their history. They both keep reasonably good time. Within 30 seconds per day.

If you could please let me know a little history about these two models I would very much appreciate it.

Here are a few pictures I have taken so far.

The pair.

I am not familiar with teh sprint so I'll leave that with others

the 806:

Nice watch .. but ..

Second hand not original
hour, minute and second hands are relumed
at least 2 totalizer hands seem not original
it doesnt have as much value to a collector as an untouched 806 but its a nice watch to wear and it looks like it has a hard life :)

The 806 is just about the most well documented vintage Breitling (although there is no shortage of contention). This is a 1960s vintage and has had some replacements as indicated. There are a lot of topics here on them and also:

The Sprint became available in the late 60s with a Valjoux 7733. There is an example on Page 18 of the 1969 catalogue - http://www.breitlingsource.com/books_1969.shtml. It was designed to be very light as it was intended as a sports watch (running specifically). It used an innovative (for the time) resin based composite material for the case, but that can make it a little brittle today.
