Hi all, I would appreciate some advice on this. The LCD / digital time display on my father's 1983 Navitimer 2300 is spoilt and he is wondering if anybody knows how much it would cost to have it repaired or replaced if at all possible. He wants to know if it is worth sending it for repair, or he would be better off getting a new one. Our local dealer charges 30 bucks just for an examination, and so it would be good if we can have just an idea of the repair/replacement cost.

Thanks!

I was under the impression that if you sent it direct to Breitling, they would give you a quote before they
did anything.
The maintenance centers are on this page. Call them to clarify. There is a video in this site that describes what a service comprises off and a cost list as well.
If you use a search engine for Navitimer 2300 you will get some sort of idea of there value.
A picture is always helpful.

Breitling doesn't have the parts to fix these anymore. If you send them the watch they might offer you a 40% off voucher on a new breitling but they keep the watch. These movements are hard to find and usually expensive. This guy has sold a few but I don't know if he has any more.

Total Newb question; ( I found this thread with a search)
Do the Breitlings with LCD displays have "inferior" mechanical movements ?
I see a few Breitlings on ebay that have inop LCDs but supposedly the rest works fine.
The link above with the Jupiter movement states 7 jewels only.

They don't have mechanical movements at all - they have quartz powered analog and digital displays. The reason that they have fewer jewels is that they have fewer moving parts.

The quality isn't inferior, they are just relatively early quartz movements when the technology was fairly new and since then it has advanced a long way and these early movements are unsupported.
