You were just missing the image tags - I edited your posts and if you click 'quote' on your post you will see what I did.

From what I can see the dial doesn't look too bad. I suspect that a new crystal will do wonders for the watch. Definitely PM Craig (chronodeco) and see what he says.

HI Jonathan,

wow what a great find. I'd love to see more pics of the cases (Vulcan?) they came in and any other info (tags/receipts)
that you have on the Breitling and the other makes.

It's hard to tell about the dial from the angle of the pic, as Roff says a new crystal may work wonders,
but I would urge you not to redial it even if it is foxed or damaged as you will reduce the value
of the watch. Military collectors like a bit of history and patina to their dials and value that over a pristine
redial.

I am away for a week or so and don't have great internet access, but would appreciate any other info you have to share.

Great watches all of them - wear in good health.

That's very cool, but it sure doesn't look like somewhere that I would want to keep a watch, even with the 'padding' - I've never seen anything like that before. Thanks for sharing.

The funny thing is that my Omega RCAF watch has the same tin and so do the Rodania's. All are marked with the serial #'s of the watches. Here is the picture of the Omega RCAF:

With the Breitling DND... I have noticed under the balance wheel the scribe of TJ 23 does anyone know what that would indicate?

On the Omega - I don't know what the TJ stands for but the 23 is for the Valjoux cal 23 movement. These movements are not all that common as a single pusher (note that the Breitling castle wheel only has 6 divisions as apposed to 9 on the 2 pusher version). Great to see both of these, especially the Breitling, as its the 1st one I have seen that I would OK as the real deal. If you are going to keep it and wear it, it should be serviced. If you are going to sell it, leave it just as it is. Craig

I would like to keep it but I also want to put insurance value to the watch. What would you reasonably say the watch is worth with the can, papers, and watch?

Unfortunately these things aren't worth much, they frequently sell for not much more than $1,000 which I think is a steal. The most recent one I saw was $1,200 and I think it had some problems, so for insurance purposes I would say $2,000 - $2,500.

It is great to see everyone so interested in the watches.

They actually have so much history it is insane! The whole reason I have these in my posession is the fact that 2 hurricane fighters crashed into each other, over comox airbase. Leaving a garbage trail of 2 miles or so. My Father-in-law and his father back in 69, bid on clean up project for redmedial sevices and where awarded the contract.

The jet material was sold off to a chicago firm for specialty scrap. Insulation and other debris was also cleaned to tip top standards.

The Sargent in charge of the case rewarded personally a crate of "scrape tools/nicknaks"

Within the crate "today"; left are a few cool ship windows,Awesome wrenches, decom'd auto asualt stuff, "sabre" knives, watches, Air Horns(brass) etc.....

These where all just sitting there (watches)....

Pops, you got some nice watches.

Well well well.

I just saw that on the Nov 15, 2010 auction for christies, a Omega RCAF watch just sold for 14,000.00 holy hanna!!! It has the serial number HA-62-342. hmm i seem to have the HA-62-082 would that then fetch me 15 G's or better? with further reading christies reports that there are only 442 world wide produced!

Question is

is this going to refelct the prices for these omegas to top dollars?

whats your thoughts
