Found one... seeking revenge on the one that got away last time :evil:

Looks okay... don't remember if the crown is supposed to be signed...

Unsigned crown is correct.

Serial number is in between ranges - too late for a documented 1946, too early for a documented 1947, but I'm happy with the watch. 789 had sqaure buttons so that's fine, movement looks good. I'm not absolutely convinced about the hands - period correct, but not sure that they go together - the different widths look a little off to me.

I second the hands...

they are period correct, but the width looks off... perhaps off another watch?

I noticed these style hands were used in other brands as well...

I think they have been replaced with similar hands from the period and likely not new so yes, from another watch.

It's not that big a deal and wouldn't put me off the watch if you like it.

I'm just hoping I can find some correct hands later on though... but come to think about it, for 500 bucks the hands are decent to live with in the time being...

and what the heck am I doing??? :lol: :lol:

That's a nice piece. The hands aren't all that bad and nobodys going to notice while your'e wearing it.
