Couldn't believe the hammer price for this - $810.
I've seen the 40's ones fetch good prices and the yellow ones have been getting up there.

+'s
It's uncommon - not the more common yellow. Might even have a question mark over it?
It doesn't have a model name on it, so it would fit many different watches.
Nice condition.

-'s
It's a box!

It's interesting that as a general rule of thumb a box might add $200/300 onto the value of the watch - genuine dated papers maybe more,
but the parts are certainly worth more than the sum of the whole.

I agree madness but so its the same when anyone pays above $60 for a newer syle box as you can buy them from Breitling direct for that.

I put a bid in of $235 for that box and thought that was too much. Never seen another though.

I have a weakness for Breitling ephemera as well, boxes, adverts, displays.
I've not seen a box like this before either, I wonder if it was for the European market?

I picked up what I think is a shop display box from the 50/60's a few years ago.

One of the coolest things I saw for sale a few years ago - sadly missed out on - was a Breitling desk clock in the form of a satellite, as seen in the top of this advert.

If anyone has any other cool Breitling bits and pieces please post them.

Madness. I can't stand big boxes. I'd rather my watches came in a nice leather pouch. Makers/AD's should offer buyers a discount if they don't want the whole big box set.
