Hello,

I just had a full restoration on a Breitling 806 AOPA with a bead bezel I. generation.

I was wondering what was the apropriate value of this watch?

Picture below:

Thanks.

Well, I would want a little more information before being sure - a restoration by Mark Heist is worth more than a restoration by an independent watchmaker. I would also want to see movement and caseback pictures to ensure that there are no problems.

Also, is it gold or gold filled - it's impossible to tell from the front.

As a guide, a gold filled 1st generation sold on eBay recently for a little over $3,100 - the price of these has really suffered in the recent economic downturn.

The restoration was carried out by www.chronodeco.com.

I do not have a picture of the movement, but a picture of the caseback is attached.

The watch is gold plated.

OK, if Craig did the restoration then I'm not worried about the originality of the movement.

In recently restored / serviced condition this should be close to $3,500 at the moment.

If you don't need to sell it now then I would strongly suggest that you hold on to it, 2 years ago this watch would have been worth well over $4,000, likely close to $4,500. We might not get back to that level immediately, but I think that there is upside in prices as the economy recovers.

Thank you for your reply,

I have no intention of selling it, I was simply curious to what the value was.

Thank you for providing this information.

Thank you both for the positive comments. BTW... I did find a glass crystal for the Nav and one of this is on this watch. Thanks again, Craig

Congrats. Did you source it readymade or custom make it?

Got it through Borel but it is 38.5mm PW crystal which may be too tight for some bezels. If that is the case (as it was with the one above), they have to be machined out slightly and glued in. Craig
