Hey, newbie here, wanted to say hi and need some help on a watch my buddy has.
Here is what he wrote me:
I know that wakmann joined up with breitling in 1943 and mine has wakmann name inscribed twice in back, inside of back of cover as well as inside back of watch too. but the inscriptions are not stamped, they are inscribed even though everything else was stamped.I do not know if this was a last minute thing by wakmann to put his name on watch since he just joined that year or if somebody did it to make it look like a real wakmann watch.
i have had this watch 15 years and never until day before yesterday knew that this watch had any kind of value.i bought it from a guy for 10.00 i think 15 years ago.i wore it to work doing construction because i liked it,never thought it was worth anything. but now i know it is worth a bit. the cheapest breitling i found was 1200. this watch was a gift for someone, there is an inscription on back that reads; To Hardy "A Swell Officer" from A & R Security 12/6/43.......only reason i held onto it this long is because of knowing its that old.Do you know anything more about breitling than what i have already said?
Any help would be greatly appriciated!!!!
