I can see the point in buying some varieties of the same model - various generations of 806 for example, and I'll freely admit that I would buy a 1952 806 if I ever found one even though it's visually the same as a 5x model, but to me the whole point of collecting watches is to have some variety in the collection and being able to have a different feeling when you strap something on. Collections like that seem to be just an investment - no different to stocks, coins, diamonds, whatever. If I were looking for an investment then watches wouldn't be it! |
