Ever since I've lost the bid for that one SS Premier by a hair, I've been looking for another SS Premier. Not sure of this one so I would like everyone's opinion on it.

Well, if the first digit of that serial is a 6 which it looks like then it's a 1946, and I was just about to agree with Craig............

However, I have one concern - the movement should be a Venus 152 (not a 52 as the seller states), and on the face of it it looks correct, but I'm not sure that the bridge is correct for a Venus 152. If you look on Google then you will find plenty of 152s with this shape bridge, but the 152 is essentially a 150 with the addition of an hour counter. The pink pages picture of a 150 is here - http://www.ranfft.de/cgi-bin/bidfun-db. ... &Venus_150. That movement is different because it is a 150 and therefore doesn't have the hour counter, but the base movement is the same. As you can see the bridge is clearly different.

Checking Bestfit to see exactly which parts differ between a 150 and a 152 does not identify a different bridge for the 152 vs. the 150 so for me - the bridge is wrong.

That's the only thing that makes me wary - Craig any thoughts - Bestfit is usually pretty reliable.

please dont unsettle him, its an absolut genuine Venus 152 .

The photo here http://www.ranfft.de/cgi-bin/bidfun-db. ... &Venus_150. is not an 150 , its is an older version of 165.

I have hunderts of this Breitling tri-Compax with Venus 152

We've all seen 150 series movements with this style bridge, but again........

Bestfit says it's wrong. It may simply be that the two bridge shapes are functionally identical and that they don't show both. That's certainly possible, Bestfit makes no distinction between a 165 and a 150.

Also, as I said the watch looks good to me and it was only the difference between what is generally an extremely reliable source and what we are seeing that made me wary. If I had had better 152 movement pictures in my other reference material then I would never have checked Bestfit and never questioned this.

That is very interesting... never seen that style of bridge before... (the one shaped more like a "U" than a "V") on a Venus movement.

it's sold though... again missed out on one... :(
