Not an expert on pieces this early, and I am away from home for a couple of weeks without access to my references. The watch itself and movement look good to me, the caseback worries me slightly - the serial is 1945 which is very late for one of these - not sure if the reference is correct for a Montbrillant.

Others will offer better advice on this one.

Yeah I know (for the OP there was an emotive thread on these watches a couple of weeks ago).

I can honestly say that I have never seen a genuine Montbrillant after the 1930s, but I also have to say that this is not my wheelhouse and while other members' styles may not encourage belief in their perspectives, there is greater knowledge elsewhere on these pieces - especially at a time that I am 2,500km away from my reference material.

I'm seen a couple of these vintage Montbrillants now and I'm starting to become a big fan.

I think that's really nice and I hope all is fine with it!

I agree with Roff, perhaps a little late to be a Montbrillant . The RXY on the balance bridge as well as the relative condition of the chrono bridge are also areas of concern.

Hello Josef,

I have exact the same Montbrillant, also with RXY on the balance, and almost the same serial number, only 6 points more. Now I am 100 % shore, they are genuine and all original, even the balance.

Take a look in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=13588&start=75
page 6

If you want sell this watch, I will offer you a real good price.

Wow, so if you find at least 2 dubious watches that are similar, that makes them genuine. Great news for me. Does anyone want to buy a R@lex 2508 chronograph that just became legitimate?
